Frankenstein's Liver's Got Grilled

The school intramurals this 2025 was exciting for me. Although I did not qualify to join the official intramurals because I lost at tryouts, I still stayed as a spectator, watching my friends compete, with passion and skill. It was inspiring to see everyone giving their best in every game and event. Deep inside, I felt confident that I could beat each and every one of them, especially in chess, because I know my skills well. But sometimes, confidence alone is not enough to secure a spot, and that taught me an important lesson about perseverance and preparation.

Watching from the sidelines made me realize how tough the competition really is and how much dedication the athletes put into their craft. I’m motivated now more than ever to improve myself, not just in chess but also in how I approach challenges and setbacks. Losing at tryouts doesn’t define my abilities, it’s just a step in a bigger journey where I can learn, grow, and come back stronger next time. This intramurals experience reminded me that humility, patience, and hard work are just as important as talent.

In the end, being a spectator this year made me appreciate the value of sportsmanship and cheering for others’ success. It’s not only about the winning, but also about being part of a community that supports and encourages each other. I’m ready to train harder and secure my spot for the next school year intramurals — not just as someone who can beat chess players, but as someone who earns their place through effort and commitment.

Sheesh. Finally, somebody has managed to defeat my idol(time pressure). Lol.
