Jose Rizal's Greatest gift to Filipinos

Jose Rizal did a lot of things for the people of the Philippines.  Jose Rizal wrote two famous books called Noli Me Tangere and  El Filibusterismo. These books showed people what was really going on. Jose Rizals books were important because before he wrote them many Filipinos just accepted their lives as the way things were. They did not know any better because they did not have any way to understand what was happening to them. Jose Rizal and his novels really opened the eyes of the Filipinos to the problems they faced.

When people read Jose Rizals novels they began to think about themselves and their country. They started to believe that Filipinos deserved treatment. They also started to believe that change was possible. Jose Rizals books spread these ideas throughout the Philippines. Jose Rizals books helped to create a sense of identity among people who had previously seen themselves only as subjects of Spain.
Rizal did a lot of things because he believed in education and peaceful change. He thought that the Filipino people would only be truly free when they were good people. That is why Rizal started groups like La Liga Filipina. These groups helped the Filipino people work together and learn about their rights. Rizal is an example of what education can do for the Filipino people. Rizal became a doctor. He could speak many languages. He also made art. Was very good, at science. Education helped Rizal achieve all these things. The Filipino people can learn from Rizal. See how important education is. This went against what the Spanish people said about Filipinos being not as good as them. Some other leaders wanted to fight against Spain with guns and weapons. Rizal said that going to school and getting an adequate education is more important than fighting.
Rizals execution was in 1896, that an important symbol for Filipinos who wanted to be free. The Spanish government thought that if they killed Riza, people would stop fighting for independence, but that didn't happen. Filipinos still think about Rizal today. Rizal remains important to Filipinos because he stood up for what he believed in and that is something that Filipinos still admire today. His life teaches that education is essential, that fighting injustices requires courage and intelligence, and that loving your country means working to improve it.
